Charoite stone – properties, who is it suitable for, what you need to know before purchasing

History and origin

Geologists estimate the average age of the rock at 134 million years. However, charoite, alas, is not mentioned in ancient manuscripts, legends or sagas. Not because it does not have unique properties, no. It’s just that throughout all these centuries the mineral was hidden from human eyes in the depths of Siberia.

In 1948, the famous scientist V.G. Ditmar conducted a geological survey of the Murun massif, located on the territory of Yakutia. It was here, while checking the Lena River basin for uranium deposits, that a geologist discovered purple blocks taken to be a type of shale.

unusual mineral

Did you know that the stream, near the bed of which the geologist discovered the mineral, is today called Ditmarovsky.

22 years passed from that discovery before the stone was described as an independent mineral, and not a slate subspecies. The discoverers of the mining site are considered to be Yu. G. Rogov and Yu. A. Alekseev. This event happened in 1973, after which a detailed study of the deposit began.

This is interesting! After the discovery of the mineral, Yu. G. Rogov visited the Mineralogical Museum of the Louvre with a rock sample. At that time, an impressive collection of the planet’s minerals was collected there, but the museum staff did not know about charoite. The scientist refused the offer to buy a sample of the unique find.

The official name “charoite” was approved by mineralogists only in 1977, when geologist V.P. Rogova first discovered the mineral in the Chara River basin.

Deposits and production

Polished charoite ore in the Museum of Geology of the SB RAS
All the most valuable samples of stone are found on the territory of the Republic of Yakutia, the government of which, in turn, sets a limit on the extraction of rare gems - no more than a hundred tons per year, but the actual production volumes are much less.

The only industrial deposit was discovered in 1960 by graduates of the Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute Yu.G. and V.P. Rogov (Murun massif). It is located on the border of the Irkutsk region and Yakutia in the Baikal Rift fault on the watershed of the Chara River and the Tokko River, and was named Lilac Stone after the color of the charoite. Development of the deposit began in the early 1970s, at which time the stone became known throughout the world.

The Murun massif, where the only charoite deposit on planet Earth is located, is a unique place. Many generations of geologists have defended their dissertations on this mountain system and the rare rocks with unique properties found there. Many of the stones mined here are found only in two or three regions of the planet. But charoite was no longer found anywhere else, even in the form of inclusions in other rocks.

There is practically no mining of charoite in the Irkutsk region today. In the 1990s, an American company bought the rights to develop the deposit, organized production, processing and export of semi-finished products by plane outside the Russian Federation.

Place of Birth

The uniqueness of charoite is determined by the fact that the place where the stone was first found is the only region where there are deposits of the mineral. Until today, scientists have not been able to detect even a trace of charoitite rock anywhere on the planet.

stone

The charoite mining site is located on the border of Yakutia with the Irkutsk region. The deposit, called “Lilac Stone,” spreads over 10 square kilometers, in the watershed of the Tokko and Chara rivers. There are 26 separate mineral deposits scattered across this territory, which are developed by quarrying.

This is interesting! Irkutsk craftsmen are currently working on creating a unique and only charoite room in the world. The entire room will be lined with lilac mineral and furnished with all kinds of charoite furniture and decor. The approximate amount of material consumed ranges from 20 tons.

The total amount of charoite reserves is estimated at approximately 140 thousand tons. Due to the rarity of the resource, the government of Yakutia has set a limit on annual production of up to 100 tons.

The deposit is the only one on the whole Earth

With charoite deposits, everything is not very clear. The first place where the purple mineral was found is known for sure. This is the Murun massif in the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia.

The gem is now practically not mined. The government of Sakha-Yakutia allows mining a maximum of 100 tons per year. In fact, much less charoite is mined.

For many years it was believed that there was only one charoite deposit on the planet. But in 2015, it was reported that in India, on the coast, charoite was discovered in marine sediments. The report was not subsequently confirmed.

A few years later, the mineral was discovered in the south of the Kemerovo region. Geologists studied a mountain range in Siberia (Patyn massif in Mountain Shoria). An article has been published devoted to the description of a new, previously unknown mineral, patynite (named after the Patyn massif).

We recommend: GREEN JASPER - from a spear to a Kolyvan vase

However, the charoite of the Patyn massif does not have a wonderful lilac color with fancy patterns. And the amount of mineral in the Patyn massif is small, there is no talk of industrial mining.

For history buffs: Pope John Paul II purchased a charoite slab for his sarcophagus in advance. He, too, was fascinated by a stone from the shores of distant Chara.

Physical properties

Charoite owes its purple color to manganese impurities. The gem is part of a rock called charoitite. Research has shown that this rock contains crystals of 40 other very rare minerals.

It is interesting that when the mineral is heated to 1000 ᵒC, the nugget does not lose its unusual color, but turns into glass balls.

Some charoites are radioactive because they contain thorium impurities. The high content of this element makes such a stone hazardous to health.

Charoite colors

Charoite colorsCharoite is colored in a unique purple color and its surface is decorated with natural patterned designs.
For this reason, the gem is known as the “lilac miracle of Siberia.” The color of the mineral is associated with the presence of manganese in its composition, and varies from brown and soft lilac to deep purple with a smooth transition from a light shade to an almost black tone. The most valuable specimens of the stone are considered to be uniformly colored specimens with a pronounced mother-of-pearl tint.

Varieties

Mineralogy includes more than 100 types of charoite. Each of them has a different shade and pattern, which is created by admixtures of other minerals. Of all the diversity, there are a dozen main types.

Vein-spotted

The most common type of charoite. Pale green and golden yellow small spots appear on the lilac background of the nugget.

Vein spotted

Rosette-shaped

This subspecies differs from ordinary charoite in its structural structure. In this case, the fibers are replaced by rosettes of scales and leaves. The shades of the gem fluctuate between lilac and violet, and the surface of the stone shimmers with mother-of-pearl.

Shaly

A variety of purple. The surface of such a mineral is endowed with a light pearlescent sheen. This type of charoite is used as an ornamental stone.

Shaly

Radiant

A stone with a small amount of impurities of other minerals. The structure of the nugget is a mixture of paniculate and sheaf-like aggregates.

Radiant

Spotted radiant

This species is the most colorful. The rich purple background creates the desired contrast for the black inclusions of aegirine, golden impurities of tinaxite and green-gray spots of feldspar. The structure of this stone is fibrous.

Needle

This type of charoite is accompanied by Aegirine, creating bizarre needle-like shapes. This gem is used by craftsmen for crafts.

Needle

Lilac charoite-asbestos

A particularly interesting subspecies with a wavy-fibrous structure. Jewelers especially revere this mineral, which in terms of its decorative qualities is comparable to a hawk's eye.

"Drain" homogeneous

The stone is uniform in color, lilac-gray or dark purple. A distinctive feature is its dense structural build.

Svilevatyi

A spotted mineral, which is divided into 4 more varieties. Each subspecies is distinguishable by color and size of spots.

Svilevatyi

Shestovaty

A lilac gem with a bright pearlescent sheen. The structure of the mineral is parallel-columnar, consisting of large aggregates.

Shestovaty

In addition to color and structural distinctiveness, the mineral is divided into grades:

  • Extra. A jewelry and ornamental gem used to create jewelry. This stone is distinguished by its clear pattern and the absence of impurities. Extra-class minerals are always translucent, their internal structure is easily visible.
  • I grade. An ornamental stone that is used to make beads and bracelets. This type of gem is endowed with a slight shine, similarity of layers, and the content of impurities in the composition does not exceed 5%. The pattern of such a mineral is unclear.
  • II grade. This ornamental variety is used to make bracelets and beads, as well as other decorative items. Such a stone does not have a clear pattern, does not shine particularly, and the color of the mineral is slightly “dirty” due to impurities, which contain about 15%.
  • III grade. Facing. Used for making slabs and mosaics. The content of foreign impurities for this variety reaches 25%.

It is interesting that the first “fruits” of the masters’ work were vases, which aroused international interest. At that time, the gem was not yet called charoite, although it charmed many hearts. Today, such products are sold only at worldwide auctions, where the price for a 30 cm high vase reaches, on average, 14 thousand US dollars.

Where is it used?

Charoite is a mineral that belongs to the ornamental stones, but there are also jewelry and ornamental varieties. “Many people ask if I meant the words “charm”, “bewitching” when I named the mineral. Yes, I did. We discussed it at work, like a charming stone from the Chara River,” said the first charoite researcher V.P. Rogova.

After its discovery, the gem captivated specialists, connoisseurs, and collectors with its beauty and quickly gained international recognition. The value of a stone is determined by several main characteristics:

  1. Persistence. A characteristic feature of charoite is its mechanical strength, and the mineral does not change its color even after exposure to high temperatures. At 1000 degrees, the gem is sintered into glass balls, but its color remains unchanged.
  2. Rarity. One deposit of charoite has been discovered in the world. Such deposits of rocks with a high potassium content are extremely rare on the planet.
  3. Beauty. It is determined by the appearance of the gem in its processed form. What matters is its shine, pattern and shimmer. The mineral looks aesthetically pleasing both in large items and in small jewelry, such as a brooch, beads, bracelet, necklace, earrings with charoite.

Typically, convex (cabochons) or flat inserts are used in jewelry. Cabochon is the best form of charoite cut. As a result of polishing, the stone acquires shine, and unique patterns appear on the surface. Often a satin, sometimes pearlescent sheen appears, and thanks to the multidirectional arrangement of fibers, a feeling of depth and volume is created.

Decorations
Charoite jewelry

Like many gems, charoite is divided into varieties. In total, four types of mineral are mined:

  • extra - jewelry;
  • 1st grade - ornamental;
  • 2nd grade - ornamental;
  • 3rd grade - used for the manufacture of facing slabs.

Thanks to its high decorative properties, the mineral takes its rightful place among stones that have been known to people for a very long time, such as jade and lapis lazuli.

The first products made from gemstones were vases, which aroused interest on the international market. This happened at a time when the stone had not yet officially received its name.

Healing properties

The mineral became known to people only 40 years ago, but lithotherapy already knows the healing capabilities of charoite. In addition to the fact that the purple hue itself has a healing effect on the human nervous system, the gem helps fight diseases of various organs of our body. The power of charoite has a beneficial effect on health problems such as:

  • malfunctions of the immune system – the nugget increases the body’s defenses and strengthens memory;
  • diseases of the genitourinary system, kidneys, including the dissolution of kidney stones;
  • prostatitis;
  • diseases of the liver, pancreas;
  • osteochondrosis, radiculitis;
  • headache.

pebble

Charoite normalizes blood pressure, improves attention, and neutralizes the harmful rays of a computer monitor and television screen. The mineral helps heal wounds and fuse bones.

Healers use gemstone beads for concussions, placing them on the patient's head. It is believed that charoite applied to a problem area draws out pain. Bracelets are recommended to be worn by people with various mental disorders, and contemplation of the mineral promotes overall peace of mind, stress relief, and relief from depression.

Important! Charoite cannot be worn constantly. The first contact with the stone for medicinal purposes begins at 2 o’clock. If there is no discomfort, the interaction time is gradually increased.

Some traditional healers are inclined to believe that the gem slows down the aging process of the body. For this purpose, massage sessions are carried out on acupuncture points that are responsible for the condition of the skin and the body as a whole. Wearing a pendant with a mineral also helps fight aging.

Medicinal properties

Traditional healers and specialists in lithotherapy (stone therapy) studied the healing properties of charoite and assessed its importance for human health.

With the help of the stone you can strengthen the immune system, treat internal organs (heart, liver, kidneys) and relieve inflammatory processes. To do this, the polished mineral must be placed on the corresponding part of the body.

The stone helps get rid of nervous tension, and beads or a pendant will help relieve headaches. However, prolonged exposure of the mineral to the body is not recommended.

Beads

For example, beads are worn starting from 2–3 hours a day. If discomfort is not felt, the time is gradually increased.

The magic of the Siberian miracle

The magical properties of the mineral began to be studied by esotericists immediately after its discovery. In such a short period of time, it was possible to find out that charoite has strong energy and a wide range of magical abilities.

The first and main direction in which the power of a gem acts is harmony. This applies to many areas - a person’s inner world, establishing communication with the environment, family relationships. Charoite allows the owner to reconcile with his inner self, gives him eloquence and the gift of persuasion to communicate with people, helps to meet love and preserve an already created family.

In addition to harmonizing itself and everything around, the mineral will surround the owner with a halo of strong protection from gossip and envy, as well as from more serious negativity - the evil eye, damage, energy vampires. Charoite develops intuitive feelings, helps suppress outbursts of anger and aggression.

It is important! Charoite is endowed with the property of accumulating negative energy. Therefore, it is recommended to regularly clean the mineral for a few minutes under running water, then dry it in the sun and the gem will be as good as new (at the energy level).

beads in a bowl

The gem accompanies all purposeful individuals, helping to cope with assigned tasks, despite obstacles. In addition, a nugget reveals hidden abilities in a person, helps develop talents, and gives inspiration to people already engaged in creativity.

Magic properties

There are no descriptions of charoite from ancient magicians and warlocks. The tombs of influential rulers are not decorated with this enchanting gem. But esotericists began to study the magic of the mineral immediately after its discovery. It didn’t take much time to determine the powerful energy and magical abilities of charoite.

In color science, purple is wisdom, peace, contemplation. Therefore, the enchanting stone is considered a mineral of ascetics, philosophers, and experts. It helps people seeking peace and solitude. Well suited for those who must be able to find compromises and listen to others.

The influence of the gem while wearing an amulet or meditating with charoite:

  1. Harmonizes the owner’s inner world, reconciles a person with his own “I”.
  2. Activates the gift of eloquence, helps improve the art of persuasion.
  3. Helps to reveal talents.
  4. Attracts love.
  5. Helps to preserve an already concluded marriage, gives comfort in the family.
  6. Protects from envy and gossip of ill-wishers.
  7. Prevents damage, the evil eye and other witchcraft negativity. Protects from the harmful influence of energy vampires.
  8. Develops intuition.
  9. Prevents and suppresses outbursts of anger of its owner.

An amulet with charoite accumulates negativity. To restore the stone’s beneficial magical properties, keep the talisman in the sun’s rays (no more than an hour).

Compatibility with other stones

Charoite is protected by two elements at once - Fire and Air. This complicates its proximity to other minerals. Astrologers believe that charoite is completely indifferent to any mineral, but it is better to wear jewelry with other stones on the other hand (when it comes to rings and bracelets) or not wear it at all.

In addition, the gem is very elegant and looks independent in jewelry, so combining such jewelry with any other jewelry is not recommended.

Physico-chemical properties of charoite

Charoite stone belongs to the pyroxene group. This is a fairly soft ornamental stone. The beautiful lilac color of charoite is due to the presence of manganese impurities, in addition to which the mineral contains oxides of aluminum, sodium, strontium, iron, and rare earth metals. The color of the stone is uneven, the fibrous pattern can be formed by stripes and inclusions of various colors: white, soft lilac, lavender, brown.

There are also charoites that, after polishing, exhibit a “cat’s eye” effect; such stones are extremely highly valued.

Jewelry with mineral

Charoite is very popular with jewelers and it is not surprising. It is quite simple to process and polish the mineral, and in products the lilac stone looks elegant and aesthetically pleasing. Masters of jewelry art present fashionistas with all kinds of designs of massive and small jewelry - brooches, beads, pendants, earrings, bracelets and rings.

The price of the mineral, as well as products made from it, is high. This is due to its rarity, production limits, and the extraordinary beauty of the nugget. The price per kilogram of charoite starts at $30 for the lowest grade, reaching $700 for the most valuable and unique specimens.

Jewelry with charoite offered by jewelry stores varies within the following price ranges:

  • Earrings - from 140 thousand rubles for gold and 14-30 thousand for silver.
  • Rings. The cost of a silver product starts from 14 thousand, and a gold one – from 90 thousand rubles.
  • The average price for beads is 90 thousand rubles.
  • The cost of a silver pendant starts from 11 thousand rubles, while the price for a pendant without a frame starts from 21 thousand rubles.

It is worth noting that the price of the product depends on the type of stone. Gold jewelry is decorated with extra-grade cabochons, often complementing the design with diamonds, so the cost of such a miracle of jewelry is appropriate.

Price

The price of purple stone is high. This is due to its rarity and unusual appearance. And also because the authorities of the Republic of Sakha have set a limit on rock production. A kilogram of unprocessed samples costs between $25 and $150, depending on the variety. Charoite products are even more expensive.

Item namePrice
medium height vase16-20 thousand
silver earrings15-35 thousand
gold earrings170 thousand
silver ring15-25 thousand
Golden ring100-120 thousand
short beads100 000

The price of jewelry increases if jewelers add other precious or semi-precious gems to Yakut crystals.

How to distinguish real Charoite from a fake?

Charoite is an extraordinary gem with the only deposit on the planet. It is difficult to obtain the rock, but it is impossible to grow it artificially. Therefore, on the market there are all kinds of plastic, ceramics or glass, painted in the appropriate shade.

Often, it is easy to distinguish a low-grade imitation from a natural nugget, but sometimes there are high-grade fakes, the origin of which can only be determined by a specialist. You can distinguish a fake yourself by carefully looking at the structure of the stone - a natural creation of nature contains impurities of other minerals, small cracks that create a unique pattern.

In addition, natural charoite will be cool to the touch, without heating up from prolonged contact with the warm skin of the hands, while plastic will become warm. Don’t forget about safe shopping in jewelry stores that provide quality certificates for the jewelry they offer.

Charoite magic

Charoite stone sculpture

It is believed that this beautiful stone can create real magic, because it, like other purple minerals, is a reliable conductor for communication with the Cosmos. Lilac stones help their owners receive energetic support from higher spheres and harmonize the physical, etheric and astral body. The power of charoite most effectively reaches a person through manipura (the chakra that involves the solar plexus and spinal column), so wearing pendants on long cords or stone belts is the best way to feed on violet energy in everyday life.

Charoite brings to its owner:

  • creative insights;
  • ability for self-comprehension;
  • clarity of thinking;
  • strength for self-sacrifice;
  • wisdom in matters of the heart.

This mineral is an excellent advisor for those who naturally have weak intuition. However, the prophetic effect of the purple stone in the hands of too impulsive people ceases: charoite, whose opinion is not listened to, looks faded and lifeless, like plastic.

How to wear and care?

For complete harmony between a person and a mineral, it is necessary, first of all, to choose a good day to buy a gem. As for charoite, the best time to purchase will be the 16th lunar day. In addition, the stone must be liked and beckoned in order to ensure a successful alliance with the owner in the future.

on the finger

The best setting for charoite is gold or silver. It is customary to wear a ring with a mineral on the ring finger, preferably on the right hand. There is no need to complement the image with other gems - the magnificent soloist is enchanting.

Products made from nuggets should be stored separately and protected from impacts, otherwise cracks or scratches will appear. Clean the stone with warm water, then wipe with a soft cloth. You cannot use any detergents, especially alkaline ones, as the mineral will lose its shine and attractiveness.

Charoite care

Caring for products made from charoite is not difficult, although you must remember that the stone is delicate and not too hard. Therefore, charoite is sensitive to bright light and sudden temperature changes. It is not advisable to wear gemstone products in a bathhouse or sauna, take them to hot countries, or fry for hours under the tropical sun.

We recommend: World Jade DEPOSITS

Gentle cleaning of the stone is allowed. Contaminated jewelry is washed with soapy water (you can dilute baby shampoo in water), then rinse thoroughly with water to remove any remaining soap.

It is DANGEROUS for Charoite to be steam or ultrasonic cleaned.

It is advisable to store each jewelry in a separate case, a thick and soft bag.

Zodiac compatibility

Despite the recent discovery, astrologers have studied the mineral, establishing its relationship to different constellations of the zodiac circle.

For them, the mineral will reveal all its magical abilities - it will give protection and harmony, develop intuition and reveal abilities.
  • Aries. Representatives of this family will find peace and emotional calm, which will help Aries fight aggressiveness and anger.
  • Taurus, just like Sagittarius and Cancer, will not be able to create an energy tandem with charoite. The mineral is contraindicated for these signs.

bracelet

The rest of the zodiac families, except Sagittarius and Cancer, can wear the mineral without fear. For each of the Zodiacs, the nugget will reveal itself in its own way.

Who is the Charoite stone suitable for according to their zodiac sign?

Most often, charoite stone is recommended for signs that belong to the element of Air. These are Libra , Gemini , Aquarius . The properties of the mineral to bring stability and balance will help them cope with their own flighty character, become calmer, and more self-confident. The gem will also give wisdom and teach you to weigh the pros and cons before making a decision.

Ring with charoite
The charoite talisman is well compatible with the air signs of the zodiac.

Water signs can also achieve good compatibility with the stone. Pisces , Cancers , Scorpios will feel that they have become bolder and stronger. The mineral is especially suitable for those “water people” who occupy high positions and are forced to control subordinates. It will be easier for them to plan ahead. Also, excessive softness, fears, anxiety about the future will go away, that is, those character traits that always interfere with bosses.

The stone Charoite has the properties and significance of a mineral of the mixed water-air element. Therefore, it will be difficult for the Fire signs - Leo , Aries , Sagittarius - to cope with it. The less they wear the gem, the better. It is not recommended to use it in magical practices. Leos will become too proud, Aries will become stubborn, and Sagittarius will become aggressive. If the character is strong enough not to succumb to the influence of the stone, then physical health may suffer.

The same properties make charoite undesirable for Earth signs. Taurus , Capricorn and Virgo will become overly conservative, harsh and intolerant. Another possible effect is lethargy and slow thinking. This can result in serious failures in relationships, professional sphere, and creativity.

  • Denis. For him, charoite will become a family amulet, bringing harmony to his relationship with his wife. The amulet will also help Denis get rid of accumulated emotional arousal.
  • Clara. The gem will enhance this girl’s existing virtues, endow her with the wisdom of a philosopher, and protect her from temptations. With the help of the talisman, Clara will gain confidence in her actions.
  • Lydia. Charoite will give her wisdom and purity of soul.
  • Olga. The stone will give confidence and enhance positive character traits. With such a talisman, Olga will learn to better understand life situations.
  • Regina. The amulet will help her to deeply feel and understand the world around her.

For each person, charoite reveals itself from different sides. If the necessary contact is established at the first meeting, then the lilac gem will bring its charm to life.

Astrological properties

In the short history of the stone, astrologers have not yet fully studied who is suitable for Charoite according to their zodiac sign. So far they agree that all representatives of the horoscope are allowed to wear the mineral.

Who is Charoite suitable for?

Charoite will bring the greatest benefit to zodiac signs who are looking for peace and tranquility. Scientists managed to find out which representatives are most influenced by charoite talismans.

Zodiac signProperty
TaurusEliminates stubbornness and inspires creativity
TwinsHelps you decide when solving important issues, promotes self-expression
CancerProtects against failures in personal life, pacifies a lively character
ScalesRemoves doubts and helps you gain confidence in your own abilities

The least compatibility with the gem is for Sagittarius, Virgo and Scorpio. For these zodiac signs, the properties of the charoite stone do not appear. For them it is a regular decoration.

Varieties of charoite

The charoite stone, although rare, has been well studied, and its subspecies have been successfully classified. The pattern of the mineral is made up of stripes of different shades of purple. Occasionally there are inclusions of aegirine, quartz, and feldspar. They have almost no effect on the properties, but give variety to the appearance.

There are ten varieties of charoite crystals in total:

  • Needle. “Needles” are obtained when the mineral is mixed with aegirine. Such charoites are best processed.

Needle charoite

  • Radiant. There are few impurities in this type of stone; they form clusters similar to panicles, heterogeneous in chemical properties.

Radiant charoite

  • Spotted radiant. Each such crystal has a bright individuality; no two are alike. Usually the base consists of a rock of deep purple color. Golden inclusions of tinaxite, black inclusions of aegirine and grayish spar “stars” make the appearance of the gem inimitable.

Mottled radiant charoite

  • Shaly. Purple subspecies with a barely noticeable tint. It was this that Dietmar first discovered. Valued for its magical properties.

Slate charoite

  • Homogeneous, or drain. The dense lilac or violet subspecies is known as an ornamental mineral.

Homogeneous charoite

  • Charoite-asbestos lilac. A stone with uniform wavy fibers and a smoky shine. Very popular among jewelers, its decorative properties can only be compared with the most expensive gems.

Charoite-asbestos lilac

  • Rosette-shaped. Another favorite of jewelers. The uniqueness of its properties is that instead of fibers, the pebble consists of scales that are collected into rosettes. The color is purple or pale lilac.

Rosette-shaped charoite

  • Veined-spotted. A light purple gem with golden or silver dots, which is found by prospectors more often than other varieties.

Vein-spotted charoite

  • Curly. A variation of the previous one, only instead of dots there are more pronounced spots.

Curly charoite

  • Shestovaty. A crystal consisting of parallel straight fibers. Usually dark purple with a pronounced glossy sheen.

Columnous charoite
All varieties of gems, one way or another, are valued for their properties - beauty and softness. The price of stones has been growing in recent years, so perhaps the government of Yakutia will have an incentive to develop the deposits more actively. In this case, other subspecies of the gem may be discovered.

Where is the Yakut mineral used?

The stone is endowed with properties that are of significant value in the production of jewelry. Such features include mechanical strength, chemical stability of the composition and extraordinary beauty, as well as the rarity of this mineral. Crystal jewelry is also popular due to its velvety purple hue.

The significant strength of the material allows the use of mechanical processing methods, which has a positive effect on its decorative properties. As a result of the polishing process, charoite products obtain a mirror-like shine. Due to its beauty and originality, jewelry with the Yakut mineral is in great demand not only in its homeland, but also far beyond its borders. However, given the uniqueness of the deposits, the government decided to limit the extraction of stone.

In addition to the fact that the mineral is an excellent material for creating jewelry, many believe in the magical properties of the stone.

Its qualities are successfully used in lithotherapy by traditional healers. With its help, they cleanse the endocrine glands. In addition, in folk medicine, pebbles are used to relieve headaches.

Charoite stone

Traditional healers recommend wearing a bracelet with this mineral to those people who have mental disorders. At the same time, it is believed that prolonged contact with it may result in consequences opposite to those desired. Charoite, its magical properties in terms of energy are more suitable for leisurely people leading a measured lifestyle. Thinkers and dreamers are advised to wear it as an amulet.

As you know, color carries a certain energy. Thus, purple shades produce a good calming effect. That is why the Yakut mineral is worth treating nervous system disorders. To calm down, you can simply look at a pebble for some time. A talisman with charoite is suitable for those who face significant mental stress as a result of intellectual work. If you always carry it with you, mental stress will decrease, while the defenses of the whole body will be activated.
